I recieved this today. If you're from a U.N. country please add your signature.

Subject:The USA is evacuating non-essential personnel from the US
embassies in the middle east. This means they are about to
start the war process. All it takes is 20% of us to cry out for "NO
WAR", but they say our numbers are more like 2%. US
Congress has authorized the President of the US to go to war against
Iraq. Please consider this an urgent request. UN Petition for
Peace Stand For Peace. Islam is not the Enemy. War is NOT the Answer.
Today we are at a Point of imbalance in the world
and are moving toward what may be the beginning of a THIRD WORLD WAR. If
you are against this possibility, the UN is
gathering signatures in an effort to avoid a tragic world event. Please
COPY (rather than Forward) this e-mail in a new
message, sign at the end of the list, and send it to all the people
whom you know.

Don't be such a pessimist

Isn't it worth a try anyway?

If this is true he's just as big a lying moron as his father.

Anything is worth a try...
But I think its a lost cause...
The next few hours are critical...
Not even the sandstorm will stop this bloodshed..
My heart goes out to all involved

If
you are against this possibility, the UN is
gathering signatures in an effort to avoid a tragic world event.
You are kidding yourself if you think this is true. This was written by some guy, and though it is a noble gesture there is no way it will stop a war. Hell, it'll probably start in the next couple of days. What is the point of sending this to the UN? The UN can't stop this war. If anything it needs to be sent to the USA, but something tells me Bush isn't going do a U-turn because some people send him an e-mail.

There will be a demonstration here in Paris this evening in front of the US embassy. I think I will go there. It's not against the US, it's against Bush policy. If Al Gore'd been elected, there wouldn't be a war in Iraq.

Even if it's useless, I feel it's necessary to say that we think that international legality is more important thant Bush interests.

well i thnk your wrong.

THINK about what your doing...

well let me ask you a Q infact... what does an ARMY run on? MORALE!

and when they read this stuff and watch the protests on TV.. that isnt doing anything for them.. Bottom line is.. the war is on and no offence but it aint gonna change shit with your lil petition. so you may aswell just be supportive of the soliders out there fighting for 'our' freedom...

i know ill get flamed but guess what.. i dont care.. i have heard everyone go on far too much abotu anti war.. and if you ask or care.. i DONT approve of this war.. but i dont make a fuss.. it wont do any good... what i do is Support the soldiers out there fighting for OUR rights.. they may not need to.. but that is what they have been told to do and they are putting theyre lives on the line for our freedom..

Show some respect.

"Support Your Troops"??? Personally, I am tired of this rhetoric. Its our boys killing, and being killed by Iraqi boys.Simple as that, every country's boys' blood mingling in the desert sand.
The desk-top war-mongeres, or "realists", as they'd have us believe ought take a reality check.
We're talking the imminent death of thousands of men women and children.P2P I thought I should share that fact with you!

You can only hope that it all goes down with as little bloodshed as possible. You got to respect how its gone down so far. Noone wants to shed innocent lives . War is bad . You can't say it is totally wrong though. War is a part of human history (no matter where your from or who you are). I feel for the ppl that really must endure this and thats the ppl of Iraq. However I support the effort to Liberate a country from an unjust regime. The Iraqi ppl will be better off.

ANTI-WAR protests are now pissing me off. They have had there say, And hey "THE WAR HAS BEGUN". And also oh! funny it's 90 % of students that are causing the problem. Maybe they should go back to school or college or wherever the hell they come from and learn something about what is actually happening in the world today.

Have they no consideration for the suffering Kerds!!!. Most of the 800,000 of them can't wait to see the Fall of saddam's ugly dictatership. These are my views only. but If I had a choice of where my taxes are spent at the moment students would be ruled out of one on the list.

I hope this time saddam and his twisted regime are blown to kingdom come!!!.GO the S.A.S

Hi guys
I won't make a long speech about what's happening but just consider some strange points....
1. Some governments acted a traitor way, forcing Irak to disarm and suffer a really strong embargo during years, covered by the UN telling about international laws and rights and they're just bombing the site now with the strongest army ever seen and claiming everywhere "Sadam is not loved there's no resistance...." WHO do you want to resist??? childs with knife facing milits and guns like in the palestinian conflict??
2. If Bush (now I name him) is so attached to the UN resolutions being effectively applicated why doesn't he speak to his many economical partners who don't care of UN ?????
3. How fanatic is it necessary to be to face most of world population and governments saying you got the truth and know you're right so you won't listen anyone else?? (looks like a bin laden speech.. :( )

By the way I find it normal for UK and US ppl to support their troups... many soldiers don't decide what they've got to do.... stupid leaders do...

Hell, it'll probably start in the next couple of days. What is the point of sending this to the UN? The UN can't stop this war. If anything it needs to be sent to the USA, but something tells me Bush isn't going do a U-turn because some people send him an e-mail.

True or not at least the U.N. will get an idea of the level of condemnation in the world

LOL LOL some people are so stupid it hurts.
Your reply is almost, but not quite, Gibberish.

Allow me to correct it for you.

Grammar.

"spell correctly "
" All we do is talk"
"I wasn't trying to be clever with regard to the s.a.s, "
"Unlike you with respect to the CRT teams
"LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE YET ANOTHER POSTER WHO HATES OTHER PEOPLES OPINIONS."

Spelling.

Spelling in the last line "YOU'RE not YOUR".

This is one of the funniest examples of illiteracy I have ever seen.

Worse than spelling intelligent incorrectly.

I think describing you as a retard is quite flattering and completely overestimates you.
Thank you for correcting our misconceptions .

And perhaps you need to stop telling people what is the right and wrong thing to do, if people have an opinion, that is not insulting anyone, then they have a right to voice it!

Gee Zardoz, you seem a bit irritable. Have you got sand in your vagina?? Why can't you let other members post their opinions without you ridiculing them? Surely having the right to freely express your opinion is one of the reasons that U.S, British and Australian soldiers are trying to free the Iraqi people. You will probably flame me for this but it would only prove my point. So put that in your peace pipe and smoke it, hippie!!! Lol

Another thing that has been pissing me off is all the bloody school kids taking a day off to "protest" against a war that 99.9% of them know fuck all about. Do any of them remember the gassing of the Kurds in Halabja? Or the gassing of Iranian soldiers? I seriously doubt it. If they are that committed to peace and tolerance why don't they try and protest in one of the countries named in the (in)famous "Axis of Evil" speech? See how far they get protesting the point there!! At least in the Western world you are free to express your opinion however misguided. I'm not worried about this conflict but the coming showdown with North Korea - they are fucking crazy !!!!
I hope this provokes some sort of intelligent reply and not just a gratuitous flaming.

EDIT: soopaman .. i am ont of the 0.01% then i know all about the gassing.. and i know what he has done.. i have to agree to some extent... some of these kids or would be young adults need to learn a lesson or two in modern history..

I dont have an outspoken opinion either way about the war in Iraq...I am a U.S citizen, and proud to be one.I dont have to agree with what my country is doing, but I must support my country and its people because of the fact that I am an American, and proud to be one. I pray,as we all should ,that no matter the outcome, may the "gods" whoever he/she/it/they may be will have mercy on all of us.

Well, I believe that this topic has expired. The war is already in progress.

You can protest all you want, but protesting has never stopped a major war. I commend all of you for your efforts and opinions.

For an American to protest now, and not support the troops, is almost saying, "I am pro-Saddam". As you know, Saddam has supported terrorists, who directly affect you in one way or another. Don't be pro-terrorists.

uh i don't know if you all know this or not but the u.s has already invaded iraq and our troops are approaching the capital city , within a week if not less the "war" will be over with total victory going to the united states , uh why don't all of you start talking about something else like reconstruction or something revelant .

i can't say i wanted the war really. but i knew that as soon as we invaded ,it would pretty much be won , i'm just saddened that we haven't won it already , what the hell is taking so damn long !!!!!!!. anything more than 3 days is too long .

i can't say i wanted the war really. but i knew that as soon as we invaded ,it would pretty much be won , i'm just saddened that we haven't won it already , what the hell is taking so damn long !!!!!!!. anything more than 3 days is too long .
a/ Its not 'The United States'........its a coalition.

Granted 75% of the troops are US, even your President is very careful to say 'coalition' troops.....i suggest you read 'The Arrogant Empire' article to see why this form of words you chose is probably ill advised.

b/ They are not nearly in the Capital city....they are about 25% of the way...that is no where near 'approaching'.....but I agree, that at this rate it will be over in less than a week.

Question:

As one of the Major 'reasons' given, for the invasion is that Saddam killed the Kurds... how does that stand with the Invasion of the Kurds by Turkey, that is now ongoing?

I mean....I can actually see why USA would want to...these are the areas that Al Queda used...ie the areas not in Hussains control.

Seems ironic, that these people are now getting bombarded by both Iraq and Turkey at the same time...when the USA have invaded Iraq to 'liberate' them.

I think we're all totally missing the point of this post-go back to the lounge and look:
Zardoz has been reduced to saying "PLEASE" to get attention.

Genuinely funny in any case. You officially possess a sense of humor; I pronounce it thus because I am an American.

I only hold my breath when you're in evidence, Zardoz-and I still sense something, it's making my eyes burn.
