Greetings.

Wanted to say hi. Not TOTALLY new to filesharing, but want to get into it in a big way now ive upgraded my PC and got Broadband.

Interested in DL'ing new music and maybe the occasional blockbuster.

Any help on protocol round here? what are the secret handshakes, that sort of thing...???

Hello LordAsriel welcome to the board. :)

If you need anything just ask but please try and post in the right areas, this way you are more likely to get a relevant reply.

The lounge is for general chit chat and silliness, world news and events and talk club for more serious discussions. These are all off topic stuff not directly related to file sharing.

We are a pretty friendly bunch and most people are very helpful.

Hope you enjoy your stay here, some of us have found this place to be seriously addictive and so I extend a warning to you that it can take over your life!

There are lots of P2P applications discussed here, you are sure to find those that can get the stuff you want. If you are unsure .... just ask.

For starters...and this is just my opinion of course....try emule for movies and soulseek for music...

enjoy. :)

Welcome,

No secret handshakes, just generally try and get along with people and try and keep the chat in the Off Topic section ... which is harder than it sounds ;)

For "new" Movies: Bittorent, IRC and eMule

For "Older" Movies: IRC, eMule and k-Lite

Music: soulseek and K-Lite

"General" p2p, k-lite is still tops, however you have to be aware of a huge problem with fakes and virii on that network.

Although, on saying that....its all subjective and everyone has their favourites.

Good Evening sara :)

Howdy J2K4 ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind welcome.

Am currently running Kazaa Lite K++. Seems ok, have got some good tunes off there. I used to run SoulSeek, but unfortunately all my files were deleted when I took my PC into work for up-grade. Thanks for the tip on emule, will do some research and give it a whirl.

All I need to do now is buy that I-pod ive been promising myself...

Oh and thanks for the heads up on corrupt files on K++. Ran into a few The Bees tracks which dont seem to work, gues thats my first example!
