I recently switched over to xp cause I got a new comp but
xp (corp btw) has caused me a lot more problems.

programs freezing (bit torrent clients)
2 many errors causing programs to shut down.
quick lanuch only displays 3 icons at a time.(that's not "quick")
I had none of these problems with win2k

is it worth all this?

I know I'm whining bear wit me, new computer :frusty:

great, now I can't even place Smilies wherever I want.

 - this should've been beside "quick"

for quicklaunch: right click the taskbar>click "lock taskbar", which will then unlock it>drag the little thingy on teh right of the quicklaunch bar to make it wider.

that's fixed.

Next, what bittorent clients are you using? none of them freee on me...actually no program freezes on me that i can think of.

What kinda errors are programs getting? it could be some spyware or viruses on your computer... ;)

smiley's not going to the right place isn't XP's fault...are you using firefox? it's known to do that, in internet explorer it works fine...

I recommend ABC for a bittorrent client. It is very good.

It doesn't freeze on me either.

My computer's a bit knackered though because I am using Windows XP Home from a Dell System Restore CD on a non-Dell PC. I keep getting weird blue screens and the computer restarting itself and freezing in games.

Did your XP Pro come with the new PC?

thx for the ql tip ;)

yeah I'm using firefox.

I've used tornando and abc both freeze especiall on hellboy like every 4mins.
of to try torrentstorm.

as far as prog errors couple of times my cpu hit 100%(amd 2500+) and my comp froze
and windows explorer sometimes closes when movie files are displayed with
the thumbnail option.

@clocker- built my pc from scratch and xp corp came from suprnova

Most likely some driver problems. ;)

And you should also run windows update.

I wouldn't recommend using the thumbnail view in folders with video files anyway...Windows Explorer just lags...pretty much regarless of you system specs.

Even if set the view to Detail, and have it show the resolution it goes slow.
Sometimes Windows Explorer can be just stupid. <_<

Using torrentstorm now, hasn't froze yet. but
it's not as fast as bit tornando was .

sacrifaces. <_<
