Im using bit torrent and im getting speeds like 7 kb/s dowwnloading
4 kb/s uploading

i am using bittornodo

with these settings

40 kb/s upload speed
6 max uploads

the film im downloading has alot of seeds

Your top speed is a function of your total speed divided by 8 eg 512 adsl gives you 64 kbps download speed.

There are other factors, especially the availability of others in the swarm, their speeds and the factor for the amount of the file available.

New and popular files with only one seed will be slow until others in the swarm complete the file and (hopefully) become seeds as well.

Your upload speed can influence the download speed and should be set to one sixteenth of your allowed speed for optimal performance eg 256 upload adsl gives an optimal figure of 16.
