Have you got ports forwarded? That is normally the reason for the yellow light, you might also want to cap your uplaod a bit while you are downloading, normaly 90% of your total upload limit is good, otherwise you may be flooding your connection

its not my pc cuz i am not abusing kazaa,emule,winmx,and other p2p progs i am using cuz they r working fine with the speed of 12-15kb

i didnt knew this,many of my friends told me the more u upload ur download speed will increase so i turned super-seeder

Undo the superseed and experiment with the settings until you find a setting that works for you. If using a router make sure your ports are forwarded correctly portforward.com (http://www.portforward.com). Running xp firewall, turn it off, use another firewall program. Already using another firewall, perhaps check into configuring to allow ports for BT use. In the end you will find what works and be able to enjoy the BT life :rolleyes:

Please dont bash on it until after you know how to work it and get chit set up.

In my expirience, this is the best file sharing tool. My highest speed was just over 450 kB/s, maxing out my connection.

With a good torrent that has many seeds and a high seeder-to-peer ratio, I will get atleast 200 kB/s almost every time. It depends on the seeder&#39;s speed, your connection speed, and how many others are on.

BitTorrent is &#39;saying&#39; with that yellow light that SOMETHING is FIREWALLING your connection.

That something is either a problem on your computer, a bad/misconfigured software firewall app, a router, Win XP&#39;s hopeless built-in firewall, possibly a crazy ADSL/Cablemodem that has a firewall/router built into it, or worse still your ISP is screwing over BitTorrent&#39;s performance.

NONE of these causes are a fault of the BitTorrent program itself, they are all a part of your computer/connection setup.

In short, something&#39;s "broken" and it&#39;s not BitTorrent.

Maybe you never noticed this problem with other p2p programs, but the problem is THERE and it causes significant problems with BitTorrent.

Many online games for instance cannot work with firewalled/behind a router connections at all. Generally, you cannot host online games if your connection is firewalled.

BitTorrent isn&#39;t much different -- if you&#39;re firewalled, it&#39;ll LOOK like it sucks because you can only download and upload to nonfirewalled people... and due to user ignorance, they are probably the minority.

why? cause unlike things like kazaa/winmx and normal ftp off servers, more users = faster for everyone, go to the site you downloaded off and look at the documentation, or go to http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/introduction.html there and look at the pretty pictures, they explain why it doesnt suck

Man, you got to learn to make it work. There is a less chance of a false file or a virus, Better speeds, I can get a DVDR 4.7 GB. movie ready to burn to DVD in less than a day and thats on a bad day...

that was what I had forwarded but it still wasn&#39;t working.

The faqs told me that after a certain version of bittorrent more ports were being used so i tried opening those and still nothing.

no firewalls, no zone alarm.

it&#39;s the right ip. right port range. it&#39;s set on TCP.

can you name some other ports I could try out.

you can use any ports you want, but you have to change your clients default ports (in preferences) then you have to forward the same ports in your router
then its recommended you re-boot for changes to take affect

if its green you didn&#39;t forward correctly
if its still yellow, then its internal, firewall or something

Yeah, no problem if I do that.

But I swaer I have gone by every cotdamn tuturial on how to forward and still nothing. It was working. I don&#39;t know what happend.

the mistake I was making when I first started was
I forward ports
6881-6889 ip xxx.xx.x.100
6881-6889 ip xxx.xx.x.101
6881-6889 ip xxx.xx.x.102
6881-6889 ip xxx.xx.x.103
the problem is you can&#39;t forward the same ports to the same ip address&#39;s
so I just forward the ip for my main computer, and got a green
so I forward the ip to just my laptop and got a green
now I use 6881-6885 for my main pc and 6886-6892 on my laptop
always get a green
