Authors

.theprodukkt consists of:

* Dierk "chaos" Ohlerich
* Thomas "fiver2" Mahlke
* Christoph "giZMo" Muetze
* Fabian "ryg" Giesen
* Sebastian "wayfinder" Grillmaier
* Tammo "kb" Hinrichs

Synopsis

.kkrieger is a full-featured FPS (first-person shooter). The amazing thing is that the full installation size of this game is only 96KB. This is because the authors stumbled upon a new way to dynamically generate textures while using only a few hundred bytes of memory. In this age where game installs routinely top 5GB, this is a welcome feature.

System Requirements

* PIII / Athlon 1.5GHz
* 512MB RAM
* 128MB 3D video card with Pixel Shader 1.3 support
* 16-bit audio card
* DirectX 9.0b

GeForce4 and RADEON 8500 / 9000 cards are not recommended.

My friend said he tried it. have you scanned it with a good scanner like nod32 yet?

I downloaded it not to play it, but just to scan it for you and see if it was a virus.
AVG came up clean, and Spybot S&D also came up finding no spyware.
I'll try installing it and scanning again
Something is definatly not right with this though

sorry dude bit this is old news to some (me..).

it works great, just takes a little while to load. it is kinda fun tho. If your looking for a great freeware FPS look no further. the game is REALLY short tho.

It's *not* a scam. That game really is compacted into a 96kb file. From what I understand, rather then creating all the textures and sounds in advance and putting them in the game, the game has been programmed to create them on-the-fly (which explains the high requirements).

It does work - I've played it, low fps but I was way below min RAM. It's more of a tech demo then an actual game, though.

i dont think you could fit one of those textures into 96k

You have to have a very good system. I got it to load all the way the last time it was posted.

Imo, if the real game developers of sony, ubi soft etc catch on to this system, we may see larger ram caches and smaller hard drives, as games today are going insane filesize wise B)

Amen to that. At least they didn't break when you threw them against the wall in frustration - unlike those look-and they-scratch CD's <_<

plus you didnt have to buy a new memory card every few games.

imagine it, you could stuff 512 MB ram into a gameboy and fit UT2004 on one of the current cartidges. :01:

actually they cant compress sound very well, have you played the demo :unsure:
