As you can see, the box(ing) smiley won't show.

Never has shown, only does this in firefox. both version 0.8 and 0.9,

Even after reinstalling windows it still won't show...

When i used to use internet explorer i copied that smiley put it on another forum, doesn't work there either...

Well, all the other smileys load right away, why should this one take so long?

i left the page loading overnight once, a while back, never did load... :(

Disable Your firewall and see if that helps.

Nope, still doesn't work... :(

only popup blocker is the firefox one...disabled it, still nothing.

have adblock, disabled that, nothing (btw this happened before i got adblock anyway).

and it DEFINATELY works in IE. Just tested again to make sure.

Well, after going to properties i copies teh url and put it in address bar and it lods like that...

anyway, in the properties it says not cached...this just means that it didn't download right?

edit: and what's really wierd is that it IS download now and yet it still won't show in the forum.

Weird.

It happens to me also.

It's weird though, because it loaded for like a second, then it showed up as a broken image.

Mr. Blunt, I got this error also.
Firefox 0.9.2

Heres the element properties of the box.gif:

So I think someone has pissed about with the gif itself, and IE is too stupid to catch it

I dont use IE or Firefox, but IE is not the piece of soft with the problem here. It's bit silly to call IE stupid for doing something the latest version of firefox seems incapable of

true_neo

I meant that if theres some error in the gif, it shouldn't be displayed.
Firefox can detect that and IE cant. :P

But the gif is fine

Don't believe me? look at it with Opera, IE or MyIE2, two little smilies boxing away just as it should be :box:

This is an error within the latest version of Firefox, not IE.

:box:
Yes mine starts. You see the two guys come in then it freezes. If u wait, or put ur mouse over, it turns to the box with box.gif in it...

must be a bad frame or something.

And i think the older versions of firefox weren't even letting the gif play at all.

07-11-2004, 05:44 PM
yeah there seems to be a bad frame near the end. it plays fine at first but when it hits the other one on the head it stops

how'd you fix, BOT?

and Firefox has always been weird about animated .gif's.
in 0.8 & before, after a while they would stop looping. In 0.9 I've noticed that some .gif's play extremely fast.
:\

anyway, I think it's really how the .gif's are created in this case.

Does it work for Internet Explorer users?
