i think most kids are usually 13 going 14 when in 9th grade

It is referred to as "k", you can think of it as zero (0).

So Primary Schools are k-6 (k,1,2,3,4,5,6)

Secondary 7,8 Some do a Middle School 6,7,8 variant

High School 9,10, 11, 12


One starts kindergarten at 5 years, or in my case, when I got out of prison. So by Grade 9 you are 14 as J2 stated.

Like the first ever series of MST3k - that is referred to as the &#39;k&#39; series and the secodn series is called series 1. Always wondered why that was...

I&#39;m in canada, but school system is teh same here as america.

I went into grade 9 13 years old and left 14.

edit: no i went in 14 and came out 15 sorry.

It depends, because in the U.S. some kids start school late so it leaves them a grade behind. My school was accredited a lot diffrerently. We did not have 9, 10, 11, 12 and most of the kids graduated when they were 16.

In traditional public school about 15 provided they did not start late. Or a little more accurate would be 14 just about to turn 15.
