IPB 2.0.0 PF1 is put on general release

We're pleased to announce that we've just released IPB 2.0.0 PF1 to the download area on full general release.

This release includes the 1.3 upgrade system to enable you to upgrade your boards. Full instructions are provided in the zip package and we recommend that you read them carefully and make sure you backup your database and files before upgrading.

Those of you upgrading from PDR5 will just need to ensure that you upload all the appropriate files INCLUDING 'ipb_templates.xml' and then run the upgrade system as normal by running "/upgrade/index.php". This will add in a few new settings and alter the database as needed.

Please remember that although this is a release candidate and therefore very stable and can be used in a production board, it's not final and still contains some minor bugs and a few rough edges. If in doubt wait until the final release!

Invision Power Board version 2.0.0 has been released.Why not upgrade ?? Will you at least upgrade when the final version comes out ?

I don't see a need having to upgrade now, then having to do it all over again when the final is actually released.

It really annoys some folks. I've seen it few times also.

It's so bad that I would seriously consider some sort of upgrade.
But not to any Beta or some Testing-Software.

It was really easy to upgrade my old board (it took minutes). I suppose it would be harder with all these members / posts. Also this forum has alot more to loose if the posts disappear.

If an upgrade is being considered (as far as I know theres no big security reason to do so) then read up alot before hand and perhaps setup a test board and upgrade that before attempting this (and also do a DB backup and a backup of all the files before you overwrite them) :)

Maybe if we upgrade the software won&#39;t recognize the old scripts and will then not install properly. Making us lose all settings.

:lol: I completely forggot about this thread ppl.I&#39;ve read all your anawers and I agree to wait untill final release.I hope admin will upgrade to the new version because it looks nice and it&#39;s better (used it on another board).
