I just got a new liteon dvd burner so i&#39;ve been doing some forum hopping..Did you realize your sony is a rebadged liteon(not sure but there may be some differences)..Well here is a solution you could try(read well use at own risk) possible fix (http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1621)..the ****LtnRPC (http://dhc014.rpc1.org/LtnRPC/) **** seems like it is your best bet good luck ...just ran the tool (LtnRPC) it read both my liteon drives no problem .But i didn&#39;t reset any of them I only use region 1 :)
