Somehow, somewhere along the way while i was installing Windows XP, all the themes dissapeared. You know when you right click >> properties >> themes. I only have the Windows Xp Theme. Is there anyway i can get those old themes back? Did this happen because the themes that came with Windows 98 are not supported in XP? Thanks In advance.

I'm just curious.

Can the patch do icons, login-ui, handle transparency, etc?

well you can change your boot/login screen without 3rd party software.
Not sure what you mean about the transparancy though....

dooomed Correct, you lose your Win98 themes.

shn No. You would have to download extra utilities to handle icons and you would probably want to download Microsoft Powertoys to handle transparency if you use uxtheme.dll. But don't get me wrong, uxtheme.dll is cool.

sparsely Will people who use uxtheme have to get yet another version for the new service pack2 ?

It's a patched DLL file. You copy over the one on your computer. The original DLL will only recognize "Official" themes that were created by Microsoft (or with a Microsoft Tool I guess.) With the patched DLL, you can use Official themes as well as the TGTSoft themes.

I used it a long time ago, and I remembered that when SP1 for XP came out, I had to get a new DLL. It worked fine, though. Not as many features and not as easy as StyleXP though.

Remember you'll have to find a registration key for style xp, because it its like a "trial version" until its registered...I think it lasts for 15days or so, not sure.
