ive finally got the girl ive been after for some time to come over to my place and watch a movie :D

now she likes horror movies (go figure <_< ), and wants me to pick a really scary movie.......

now im guessing: the scarier the movie, the better my chances........

horror movies arent really my thing, so my question kinda is: what is the scariest movie you've heard of (preferably people getting hart-attacks watching it, and that sorta stuff)???

EDIT: hashes or torrents would make me really happy. ;)

i used to think Terminator was damn scary, especially the Judgement Day dream sequence, but i've seen it too many times (because its great) and am now desensatised to liquid robots with knives for arms

I second that...
Plus Ringu is japanese, not chinese :geek:

In the scary japanese movies department there is Kurosawa Kyoshi's Kaïro (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286751/)

As an adult the scariest movie I ever saw was Nightmare on Elm Street (the original movie).

The Fog (see my avatar and signature) is nice as well and it is old enough and obscure enough that she might not have seen it. This enhances the cuddle factor.

Phantasm, Halloween,

or if she's a jack fan, The Shining.

Yes, that way you get to see it twice B)

If you don't fancy "The Exorcist" how about "the Omen" B)

IMO the old horror films are much better than the modern rubbish that gets churned out these days ;)

If you want scary check out:

House Of A 1000 Corps.... its directed by Rob Zombie she will be impressed because its a very strange usual movie but very good. Look on amazon.co.uk for more info

Also Stir Of Echos was very scary when I saw it but it was such along time ago. Or go with a classic you can't beat that...no sequals they suck did anyone see Jaws III on TV yesterday....man it sucked.

Get House Of A 100 Corps and scar her shi*less! She'll be so scared she won't wanna go home alone and she will have to stay the night round your house....what a shame :D

The only movie that has really successfully ever scared me was "Candyman"...
Maybe its just the fact that it had some real ties to everyday thought, but I was always afriad to look in the mirror after going to the bathroom, for weeks after seeing this movie as a child... It still effects me a lil now, but not nearly as much. :01:

If you want scary u really should chose Candyman and blair witch project (i know everyone seen it but it still scares the shit outta me. had to turn the lights on when i went to sleep for weeks after watching that movie in the dark) stephen kings IT also a very good choice plus theres pet cemetary 1 the sister in the bedroom is real scary stuff.

True true more suspense/sci-fi but the scene in the room with all the guys tied up and they are doing the blood test was pure horror of course. Always worth a watch.

Horror films rarely scare me because realistically, many of the happenings have little chance of occuring in real life. However, there were a few dramas that I found scary at one point or another:

A Thief in the Night. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070795/) If you hold onto the Christian belief of the Rapture, being left behind is one of the worst things that could happen to a person. I first watched this when I was little and it literally had me in fear for weeks. However, I viewed the film recently and it wasn't as bad.

Threads. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090163/) A british drama based upon what the world would be like after a nuclear war. I found it disturbing and very graphic. I watched this one a few months ago and I had to go to sleep with the lights on for a while.

The Day After (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085404/). Based on life during and after nuclear war (like Threads), but in some city in the US. Not as graphic as Threads, but still good (and scary).
