I didnt feel like typing it all out but here is a pic

I'd rather have it an AMD 64-bit then the Intel.

Keyboard and mouse dont matter. I like the ones I got.

Same with LAN and modem.

I got a dvd burner so the optical drive doesnt matter.

Dell priced this at aroun $4,700 USD

That's one hell of a system though....
Probably about half that...give or take a few hundred of course ;)
EDIT didn't see monitor, add a few more hundred lol
I'm guessing you could build it for probably 3,500 or so, maybe less

Why 4GB RAM?

Get 2GB of as high speed RAM as your motherboard supports.

ya, for sure.

I can just imagine in the future with like some future operating ysstem (longhorn 2? lol) people are trying to get support on their old athlon 64 pos processor (newest at that time will be 128bit, maybe 256 lol) and they read this forum and they're like WTF this stuff is shit what are they talking about.
Then they read my post and remember the good old days.

You're gonna love how I got the three too :D

I was leaving the HEB (grocery store), when this sleepy eyed fellow in a van next to me asked if I had a computer. When I asked why, he said that he'd "come across" some computers and monitors and was selling them cheap. He wanted $250 a peice for the monitors but I said I'd buy three for $400 and he agreed. I think that's about $2000 worth if bought on Dell's site. :01: :01: :01:

hahaha...... that sounds like how the dutch police handles weed farms:

raid the place (well, its not really raiding like in the US, they keep it civilised), confiscate all the lamps and such, then sell all that on the police auction :P
