Basically, Sam is a funny bloke until he's pissed, when drunk he tends to flame, over the course of time he has had warnings and now they have banned him.
People are upset because it's only when he's drunk, and he has fair reason for being pissed at the world, people think a ban is too harsh.

Simple as that really :)
