A Nice List Of Supernodes

The supernode list:

1) Copy the complete text below into a new text file called supernode.txt and save the text file.
2) Rename the supernode.txt file to supernode.reg
3) Double-click on the supernode.reg file to import it into your registry
4) Start Kazaa Lite.

This is a list of 200 supernodes. Mostly running older versions of Kazaa (Lite). So there should be no problems with connecting and searching.

This one always works. It's the iMesh bootstrap supernode. When you connect to it you'll get 200 fresh supernodes.

How to show all file extensions in Windows Explorer:

Open explorer. In the menu, click on 'Tools' and go to 'Folder Options', Go to the 'View' tab. Disable (untick the checkbox) 'Hide file extensions for know filetypes'.

How to rename a file:

First make sure you can see the file extensions (.txt .reg etcetera). See above on how to fix that if you can't see then.
To rename a file, simply right-click on it and select 'Rename' in the contectmenu.

Some notes:

These list should help against the low usercount problem. It's not permanent. So if the count goes low, just import one of the lists again.

You can use only 1 list at a time. Each time you import a list the old one will be overwritten.

The list of supernodes is also automatically updated/changed whenever you connect to a supernode. So you may need to import a 'good' list from time to time.

Second list contains only 1 supernode. This is the main iMesh supernode, which supplies your program with a list of 200 supernodes.


This works for all Kazaa (Lite) versions.

you dont change it from a .txt to a .reg when u save the supernode as you make the setting SHOW ALL FILES then you save it as supernode.reg

BTW...does this solve the constantly low users problem?

Updating my Supernode list sounded like a good idea but I'm having a little problem adding it to my Registry....

I copied the iMesh bootstrap supernode following these instructions in the first post....

When I double-click on the renamed supernode.reg I get this.....

First of, u should upgrade ur windows, since 95 is pretty old. Id say u probably want at least 98 since most new apps are compatable from 98 up.

There are two ways of getting this reg file. One, you can copy the code in the first post and paste it in Notepad and save it as a reg file. Or, you can just get the archive that someone convinently uploaded. If you did the first method, then just import it like stated above. If you got the archive, then open the file using WinRar (Web site here) (http://www.rarlab.com)and extract the file. Then follow the instructions above.

Ok, I was able to get it imported to my Registry this time.....

Here&#39;s what I did....(I have Windows XP Home/K-Lite 2.6/KZN 1.4.0.8):

As far as I know, all this does is change the information in your registry as to what supernodes your Kazaa Lite program connects to. It doesn&#39;t change any of your other Kazaa Lite settings. There&#39;s nothing that you need to do to utilize it. It was just created as a way to try to help with the issue of occasionally connecting to a supernode with less than 100 000 users. So after you import it to your registry, Kazaa Lite should continue working normally.

When you first start up kazaalite, it uses this list of IP addresses in the registry to initially try to connect to the network. Since supernodes may go offline over time, and new ones come online, while you are connected, the list is kept up to date with the latest IP addresses that are supernodes.

If you haven&#39;t connected for a long while, or are reinstalling an older version (with an older list), then this may mean that your PC can&#39;t connect to the network, because it can&#39;t find a valid active supernode to connect to.

By installing this list, this should rectify that, because it is bang-on up to date with all the latest supernode IP addresses.

Once you have connected once, so long as you connect every once in a while, you should be fine, and have no further problems connecting.

Also, it seems that recently parts of the network have fragmented, which is why sometimes when you connect to a supernode, you only have 90000 users reported or whatever.

In which case, by using this list hopefully we will be able to bring the network back together again, and have all the supernodes singing from the same hymn sheet, as it were... :)

Install it and you have a new item on your Right Click Menu.
Easy and fast way to rename any file to any extension.

I know its an old app and not updated anymore
but it still works and its free. Great little tool imo.

OK im gonna use this software...since it looks pretty tight..and since tis just a converter program..im assuming ti doesnt take up much space

Changing a filename by changing it&#39;s extention is not converting the file.

The three letters after the dot as in word.doc are simple there to let windows know what type of file it is and hence what to do with it.

So windows sees something.txt, sees it as a text file and opens it with a text editor (say notepad). However if it sees something.reg it identifies it as a different type of file and adds the content to the registry.

The text file is only used as a way of creating the data in the first place. You could not change the name to something.wav and expect it to play a tune.

This is the way DOS worked as well, using the name / extention system. However in DOS it was limited to 8 / 3 characters.

Why don&#39;t you make this Supernode list available as a *.kzn file so we can use Kazupernodes to open this list?

Would make it a whole lot easier IMHO

I entered the supernode list from Entity101 (supernode.reg), the larger list of 200 supernodes not the iMesh Bootstrap, and now my File>Jump Supernode does not work. It stays frozen at just over 2.5 million and does not change from there when I click on Jump Supernode.

My Kazupernode 1.4.8 seems to work ok however.

Is there a way to unfreeze Jump Supernode?

OH MY GOD, I'm going cross eyed trying to figure this out. All I am trying to figure out is a place that explains what Kazupernodes are and how to use them. I can follow directions fairly well if I could find some in one place. I have been trying to piece together little bits that I catch here and there. Please someone just point me in the right direction. If I even knew the basic process, I could figure out the rest ,,,,,well maybe! MY BRAIN HURTS!!!

OK IDID EVERYTHING THAT YOU GUYS WERE TALKING OVER THE 5 PAGES OF POSTS BUT STILL DIDN'T WORK. I HAVEN KAZAA LITE K++ v2.4.3 AND I'M USING KaZuperNodes v1.4.6 TEST BUILD. OK ON THE LAST 2 YEARS I HAVE BEEN USING THIS KAZAA AND WITH ZUPERNODES BECAUSE I NEVER LIKED THE NORMAL KAZAA BUT LAST WEEK I RESTORE MY COMPUTER AND WHEN I ISTALLED KAZAA BACK TOGETHER NOW IS NOT CONNECTING I TRY EVERITHING ALREADY(DOWNLOAD THE NEW KAZAA 2.7, SAME THING DOESN'T WORK, DOWNLOAD THE NEW KAZUPERNODES DOESN'T WORK) SO I ONE OF YOU GUYS THAT ARE REALLY SMART CAN HELP ME I WOULD APPRESIATED THANKS TOMAS.
