how can i change the icons shown when something is opened by wmp?

Control Panel>Folder options>File types>advanced>Change icon.

You'll have to do it for every type of files opened by your media player, though. It could take some time! :P

at the moment it is showing a earth thing with a cinema real kind of thing coming off it for a wma file whereas before it simply showed the wmp icon...i want this back.

doing the above shows the orginal wmp icon
