Never, ever post the words gep gun again, ever.

Certainly not adjacent to one and other.

The first 90% was like my son and his friend talking (i.e. mind numbing)

Is that what a GEP is? An Elvis impersonater with a chicken? Curious.

Sam appears to have caused the discussion on that forum to stall - wonder why. <_<

I don't follow much of what goes on here.

It seems that there is always someone mis-behaving.

Billy, IN, now Sam.

As far as I can see, one can say pretty much anything one likes and apart from a couple of understandable rules on porn and race hate all is good. What did he do?

I know Billy could be a bit aggressive and IN a bit disturbing, but Sam was usually fun.

I appreciate there is a whole pile of spam issues that just go right over my head so a simple resume would be nice. :)

Shit happens.

Sam was red carded for persistent fouling, rather than a dangerous tackle. The mods feel that the mitigation that it was alcohol induced has been used too often and that not to ban him would be unfair on other people. Not all of the mods btw, but a majority vote.

Remember the chap who got sent off in a European competition for playfully tapping his mate (a real mate who had played alongside him). He got booked for it, coz the ref felt he had no option. He got sent off because he already had a yellow card. The referee had no option in that either. The mods feel like that I think

It really is a shame, bearing in mind that bans have been lifted in the past. Some people me included just want him to be given another chance, in view of the nature of the banning.

Shit happens.

Thanks J'Pol

Presumably after being sent to his room he will be allowed to return to the bosom of the family.

Sam has said he won't come back out while banned out of respect for the mods that supported him in the vote and the other members

The following is not spam, no matter what this board thinks.

Sadly no, a ban is intended as a permanent remedy. Indeed if it is identified that the banned person has created a new account then that too is banned. The ban is the person not the account and it is forever.

However there is precedent for bans to be lifted. It is the hope of some of sam's friends that this will be the case. I personally feel that some of the actions, tho' well intentioned are counter-productive.

The hope is that due to the reason for sam's ban, repeated arsism in all honesty, that the admin / mod will take a fresh look and give him another chance. Unlike people who deliberately go about being offensive and insulting, sometimes with the specific intention of being banned. You are as aware of these things as I am.

I agree that to "punish" him in the same way as these people is cruel and unusual. A hefty moderation and cooling off period, yes. But an out and out forever ban, sorry that is just too much for what he has done
