300watt sucks, 400+ is better.

Yea, just browse the site. Must say Amd and not Intel, that the only thing you need to worry about.

Huh?

ATX is ATX...the connector is the same.
Intel ( and many AMD, too) boards also use a separate 4 pin power connector for the CPU, but every PSU that I've seen has this connector as standard.

I've used a PSU that was only approved for Intel on my AMD and the computer would reset by itself often when I'm doing something thats stressful to the computer.. so I guess it is different in a way =\

What are all the other components you want to run off that power supply? It's all the components combined load that you should be concerned about.

the only difference between an intel approved power suply and any other power supply is that the intel ones have an extra connector with 4 pins for extra motherboard power. All intel boards, and some amd boards, need this plug.
if you have this plug but don't need it it doesn't affect anything.

According to that, a top of the line pc w/ all the nice fans and lights would only need a 575 w power supply.

I only need 275w

Why does this strike you as odd?

Many so-called 500w PSUs are incapable of providing continuous and stable 275w.

Those "500w" are only available in the millisecond before all the caps explode and the traces melt.
