That was a blast from the past, for me.

Over here, we called it "foosball".

There used to be a "Million-Dollar Tournament" in Las Vegas, with qualifying tourneys scattered here and there about the country, one of which was just up the road from where I am now.

It&#39;s a college town, and, in 1979, my table-soccer partner and I were entered in the tournament; we were a shoo-in to win, our only competition being a team we usually beat handily.

Two days before the competition, I met my ex-wife, and by related circumstance, also broke my right wrist rather badly, thereby precluding my participation in the tourney.

Of course, you know the rest of the story:

Our nemeses won, continued on to Vegas, and won there, also.

My luck, eh?
