# 256MB of high performance 128-bit DDR memory accelerates all of your 3D applications
# Native x16 Lane PCI Express interface
# Four pixel pipelines
# 2 programmable vertex shader pipelines
# Double the bandwidth of AGP 8x Interface

why does pciE even matter if it has only 4 pipes??????? WHAT THE F__K IS GOING ON!

Its a lower end card...I know 4 is kinda low but I saw that a long time ago.

The 128 bit memory interface doesnt impress me much either...I wonder what performance level they will be even with? A 9600XT has like the same specs.

The X600 series is intended to be competing with the 9600 series. X800 with 9800 etc. etc.

Why would they want to compete with with cards of their own which they are still selling? Or am I all wrong here.

I think the word here would be "replace". Sort of overlapping product ranges.

Its by customer budget...
If they were wanting a X800XT but low on cash might aswell buy a X600XT, samething goes with 9800XT low on cash and buy a 9600XT.

All about market.

I'm assuming its for people who want the new PCI EXPRESS interface on their mobo when they buy, Then can upgrade later. Kinda like we all did with the AGP , when it first surfaced.

So will there be no x600's with agp then?

'cos I just saw some ad for it, I think. EDits: nah it was some price comparison site and a dody one at that.

I thought it was simply the next generation, not simply an alternative to the 9000 series, which was what I was on about.
