Hmm since Thursaday I have been able to even connect with the forum unless I use a proxy.

I have tried delteing all my cookies, etc etc but still no joy. This happened a few moths ago to.

Anyone got any ideas?

Perhaps its a new moderation method, just IP ban people for a few days so they get so fucked off using a proxy they give up

What happens when you try to get in without a proxy.

Have you tried dropping your IP and getting a new one, or do you have a fixed IP.

I have a fixed ip, when I try logging with out a proxy I get connection refused or a time out message <_<

One can only assume that you are in a banned range then. Tho' I don't really understand how that would work.

Perhaps your IP was banned by mistake. Given that you are willing to log in here without using a proxy perhaps you could get admin / a mod to check that it has not been banned by mistake.

As far as I was aware there is only one banned ip range and I am not in it, I did ask BOT last time this happened to me :(

If any one is reading this can they check for me?

edit - just saw your post Brian, nor do I

You could PM your actual IP to a mod / admin and ask them to confirm it is not banned / blocked.

Hmmm, worth a shot I guess.

Can the mods check banned ips?

this sometimes happens to me on a few sites (i.e. 3dkingdom.org) i just have to keep reconnecting my internet until my IP is accepted. Never happened at FST though

Actually just a done a trace route and it seems one of the nodes isnt working (ev1). Its getting lost between there and the final port of call <_<

Seems like a FST problem rather than me

Does that mean it's just a bit of the interweb that is down just now.

Yup, it looks like the road has been closed and no diversion has been set up :(

I sent a nice long pm full of info I found out to the admin, but they haven't read them yet. I will post it here to just in case :D

Hi Brian,

I have tracked my connection problem to something at your end.

Looks like the problem I'm having with fst is with your webhost. fst.com is the next hop after ivhou-207-218-245-110.ev1.net. unless fst are blocking ip's at ev1's router, (seems unlikely an isp would reconfigure their router just because a forum asked them too), then it's a connectivity problem there. I dont know if you want tof get onto ev1's techsupp http://my.ev1.net/english/support/

I have done some more digging and I am not the only one affected by this
or indeed is FST

http://www.forumco.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=484

http://www.hardwaregeeks.com/board/archive...hp/t-17492.html

The common denominator in all these probs is the ev1 server

I hope this helps and the problem can be resolved, Having to use a proxy to surf this site is really slowing things down.

Thanks

Dan

Actually We are planning to switch to a new server within a few days hopefully. EV1 will be no more.
