Yea, like in the Korea/Japan 2002 (FIFA WorldCup),
here in Mexico, all the games were at 12:00 or 2:00am,
but here the TV Networks aired them anyway.

But They did aired the EuroCup,
I could not velieve that Englan lost,
o men,
You know what I think,
I think that Beckham was distracted,
I mean, with Posh, who would´t... lol...

hey, do you guys have E-Mail?
and if you do,
Would you give it to me?

First of all its called football not soccer, you sound like a gringo.
Dont forget Brazil is playing with their B team.

manker

That's a bit harsh. I call Association Football 'soccer' some of the time - do I sound like a gringo too? Technically since this is an international forum perhaps soccer would be a better word to use because half the traffic is generated by North Americans where the generic term 'football' is used to denote an odd rugby type game.

Hey, hey hey, You Yonky!

First of all, I may sound like a ¨gringo¨,
I live 10 mins. fron SanDiego California.
(sorry but, where do you live?)

Second: mexico has defeted Brazil
(the Team A) in the CONCACAF Cup
(4 to 3 - 1999 I think)
Besides, any Brazilian team is to be
feared... lol...

OMG
I just said that Brazil beat Mexico twice in 1999. I also said that Brazil is playing Copa America with their B team.
GO BRAZIL!!!!!!!! :D :D

Ok, mmm...
If Brazil is playing with its Team B,
that´s their problem!
They know this is a competiton and if
they send that Team, they shurely must think
they are going to win,
if not, why are they sending it.

(and I repeat to you,
The Copa America victory, 4 to 3,
was with the Team A)

The thing is as simple as this:
¨Mexico Can Do It¨
¨¨Mexico has done it before,
and might doit again¨¨

¨´ViVa MeXiCo ´¨

But now, on a friendly note,
where are you from?

Really. And how did you solicit the opinion of 'everyone' in relation to my post?

If someone refers to soccer on this forum everyone will immediately understand that he or she means football with a spherical ball. If someone refers to Football then there will be a lot of members who will be thinking of the NFL.

Could you point out where that is illogical?

Sure, i kinda expected you would see the "lack of logic" by yourself; anyway here it goes:

Fact #1: In the US they call it soccer
Fact #2: In the rest of the world we call it football.

You said: '...since this is an international forum...'

See the conflict now? Logic goes this way => Since this is an international forum we should call it the way most people do, that is football :D

You also said '...half the traffic is generated by North Americans...' which is not a fact, just an assumption and it think its wrong.

BTW sorry if i sounded harsh but i didnt expect you to understand the word gringo. :smilie4:

I use the word 'soccer' a lot of the time here when referring to football...just makes sense to as it avoids confusion.

It's one of my pet hates, the football-soccer argument. I just don't understand why people get their knickers in such a twist about it.

Anyhow, everyone knows it's really called Puntsphere. B)

(I've used the Puntsphere joke 26 times now on this forum)

No, not just an assumption. At the moment the total traffic for this site stands at around 43% from North America. See for yourself here (http://www.nedstatbasic.net/s?tab=1&link=1&id=1710719). The last time I checked it was a little higher.

You either misunderstand my point or you're being deliberately obtuse. By saying soccer 100% of the forum members will think of Puntshpere, by saying Football 43% of the forum will think of American rugby, 4% of the members will think of Aussie rules and the Irish lads may well wonder if you mean Gaelic Football. As Cheese says, it avoids confusion if you just say Soccer cause everyone gets it.

See?

This is highly appauling. The keeper gets a foul and Brazil gets a penalty. How often does the keeper get a foul? I don't like tonight's refs. If Brazil wins this game, I will regrettably have to go for Argentina to hand Brazil their ass.  Brazil needs to stop winning, and training their kids from 2 years of age to play the game.

Oops, that didn't go as you expected eh, Worldpease. I thought Brazil were superb. Mexico lost heart after the penalty and to be honest they looked pretty ordinary. Alex for Brazil was the outstanding player on the park, I think he will be a superstar in the near future and I learned that Kleberson was still alive.

I enjoyed the game thoroughly and hope Brazil go on to win the whole thing. (Btw from your earlier post. Yes I'm from the UK)

damn a little late but anyways , if i were to blame someone it would be the ref for that unfair penalty , but thats not how it works , well after that mexico was out of control , they didnt know what to do , couldnt keep the ball , and with most of there star players in the bench , so whats next , there blaming there coach , the media is just having at him , so after the olympics dont think hes going to be around .
