It&#39;s not giving up power, it&#39;s giving up a lot of worries. And leaving some good people behind that still work hard to do their stinking best in all forum members interest :ghostface:

So yes i stopped being an active mod, after almost 2 years. I have a lot of work atm combined with a study i recently started to follow. So i haven&#39;t enough free time to be a good "boardslave". And i really think you need to put in enough time and positive energy, to do the job properly.

That and the fact i kinda had it with the dishing you get as a mod was enough to resign. As someone said if you can&#39;t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Well i was getting irritated by the constant mod dishing lately, that way it is not much fun being a mod. I always said that a mod is just a member too, but one that does the housecleaning and the laundry fo all the members. If a "normal" member stops having fun in here it&#39;s easy to leave the board aside for as long as you want. As a mod you don&#39;t have that choice, cause you feel like you leave your fellow mods behind. Then they have to do all the (hard) work.
Being a mod has nothing to do with having powers, you do it cause you love this place and like the members and therefor need to be very dedicated to do it right.

Well i have plenty of good memories to think of, a lot has happened the past 2 years, and i ain&#39;t saying the board farewell (sorry guys that would like to see that happening) so actually i just stop moderating. And i feel kinda sorry for leaving the team. I wish them all the best with their "dogjob".

Altough it&#39;s like the members against the mods and i can assure you that the mods have the same interest as the members, having fun and have a solid, friendly board.
But sometimes there are decissions that have to be taken and they ain&#39;t always easy. The team doesn&#39;t like to see bannings or moderate people. It&#39;s necessary sometimes, too bad. And who sais the mods agree all the decissions or actions that are taken? But still no reason to attack the mods all the time.....

Being a person who really has never had any trouble with the Mods here, let me make a brief comment.

The concept that the MODS act as a TEAM is absurd. You guys act like a man who has had a massive stroke. One side of the brain has no idea what the other is doing.

Communication is zero, discussion is zero, implementation of punishment is almost random.

You guys have bought the dildo and stuck it up your own asses.

You need ADULT mods, cool heads, and you need to follow your own rules.

Things here, atm, are disgraceful.

My point: You Mods have the ability to turn this all around, it is all about attitude, self esteem and communication.

This ain&#39;t no big deal.

Jetje was always around and seemed willing to discuss his actions and what more can you ask for?

Admittedly I have a rather skewed and limited vision of the board...I don&#39;t even know who Sam4 was, much less miss him, nor have I seen the Team Chat logs that everyone else seems privy to...but the tenor of the forum does seem to have taken a turn for the worse over the past few months.

Perhaps the Mods need to consider some different ways to deal with the members.
Maybe a Mod section in "About this Forum" where an explanation could be given for some of the more contraversial decisions. This section could be closed to member response so it doesn&#39;t drag on for pages, but would serve as a bellweather for what the team thinking is.

As things stand now, too much happens for mysterious and unexplained reasons, hence the member outcry and general mod bashing of late.

2. The mod team should basically moderate the same way when it comes to closing, banning, editing, placing moderation, etc (I understand some of this is voted on).

If I had a laptop to take to work, and an inclination to moderate this board, I could do it using only the index finger on my left hand and directions on leaving WN&E/Lounge/Talk Club.

It requires an even hand and an even temper, plus a willingness to spend a bit of time.

I do not want to sell the mods short; no one is a bigger fan of the job they do than I am, but I think with the expansion into more worlds came the need for more bodies to provide coverage, and at that point we started to lose track of one another.

We reached a point where "Team Chat" became a farce, because there was no way in the world to get everyone together at the same time; I&#39;ve never been a part of the moderating effort here, but simple logistics reveal the cause of the latent inconsistancy; and just think: all in the name of unnecessary expansion.

No offense to whoever originated the idea, but who the hell thought, with WN&E and the Lounge, that we needed "The Talk Club"?

Just as an example, you see.

I used to recognize all the people on this board by name, even if I never had an exchange with them, because everybody managed to stick their head in the door somewhere along the line.

I think this is a farce to move a this to the lounge <_<
they are people here who want to see the board decline, at least some of the mods haven&#39;t done anything sept run away instead if confronting it
yea it will go away if you move it to the lounge, don&#39;t worry about it, a few more people will just spam some nonsense after this so i guess thats the ultimate goal

If one doesn&#39;t have the time to moderate the board or do it properly then&nbsp; GTFO &#33;&#33;&#33;&nbsp; ...and be a part-time member. You do the board a disservice. It IS black & white that this should be done. Simple logic should win.

In the near future I will be leaving the board, and also the Moderating Job.
Not because I feel bad about moderating muchspl2 or anyone else, but because I am
moving to another house,
will lose the Net, and I have no idea when I get the Net again. Could take over the
coming winter.
