I really only know of 2 options while your actually in the process and that&#39;s the laughing gas or the needle in your gums. I guess the needle is filled with novacaine.

The needle worked best for me because when I got home my mouth was just really numb. I&#39;ve had the gas too when I was younger but it only sedates you while their doing the procedure but the needle takes a while to wear off. Most dentist give you a choice.

But they give the needle too cause the gas does nothing for pain. THe needle hurts a lot, but the pulling of the teeth doesn&#39;t hurt at all.
