Anybody that can pinpoint me to one?

I found one a couple of days ago but didn't bother to dl it or save the url,and now i can't find it anymore :(

It was a tool that automaticly decodes the message,no matter how it is decoded,
when you grab it from a newsgroup.

Thanks :)

I found one that will do for now:UUDeview (http://www.miken.com/uud/)

But if you know of any better tool out there, let me know.
Preferably one that can be integrated with my newsreader(Mozilla Thunderbird)
Because now I have to manually pass each sepperate file through it,wich is very time consuming :frusty:

Can't get the darn thing registered, and it's quite annoying to get your downloads interrupted every two minutes.
GrabIt is ok, but it sorts post by alpa and not by date

And I just prefer to have an all in one, full functional( :01: ) newsreader and mailcliënt instead of having to switch between programs all the time.

Mozilla Thunderbirds' layout is also much better than GranIts'. B)

If you're gonna be serious about making the most of newsgroup binaries, then buy (yes, I said 'buy') NewsBinPro. I did.
It is the most useful tool you'll ever use.

Well...I almost did ;)
But paying up 35$ isn't something I'll do without looking at other alternatives first.

I might end up buying it eventually, since the numerous cracks i already used didn't work. But as i said,I rather have a newsreader and mailcliënt in one, both good for downloading and reading on newsgroups and sending and receiving mail.
And as far as I know NewsbinPro neglects text :smilie4:

Would be great if someone made a version of Thunderbird that can do all the decoding for you. It's open source!

People are already whining about the fact that it doesn't decode yEnc(the future code on newsgroups :01: ),so if they take the time to add that, they might as well add the other codings in it as well(can't be that hard now,can it?)
If they'ld do that,I think a lot of people would leave NewsbinPro for what it is and switch to Thunderbird......IMO
They already own OE,but with those added features it would own it even more B)

No more dl interuptions or the stupid 10sec. start-up delay

Thanks d00d :P

But still... :( A shame Thunderbird doesn't improves itself where it needs improving.

Yeah, just imagine how useful it would be for a newsreader to access multiple servers simultaneously, open multiple connections to each, decode yenc posts, and complete posts from a different server as well as parse PAR, PAR2 and NZB files.

A newsreader isn't going to have all (or even some) of these features because they're not dedicated to file downloading. NBP does because downloading binaries is all it's supposed to do, and it's the best there is at it.

If you want a newsreader that also happens to be quite good for binaries then get Forte's Agent. Personally, I think it's a pofs, whether used for binaries or as a plain newsreader.

Newsbin does it automatically, much. I love that program - in fact one could say I was so impressed I bought it (anyone older than 25 will now be thinking of shaving!)
