Just to name a few.....

Doom III - Aug. 3
Madden 2004 - Aug04
Half-Life 2 - Summer 04
Call of Duty: United Defensive - Sept04
Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault - Sept04
Rome: Total War - Sept04
The Sims 2 - Sept 04
Star Wars: Battlefront - Sept04

With all these games coming out, what kind of rig should I have? Currently I'm running a:
Gigabyte 865pe mobo
P4 2.4c
2x256 ddr mb pc3200
ati Radeon 9600pro

Is this good enough? If I overclocked my system would that improve the graphics?

u lucky bastard u have a 2.4C which can overclock to 3.4Ghz easily ;)

It looks good, other then the video card. HL2 and Doom 3 will only be able to play on medium settings.

The rest looks good.

Im only looking forward to Madden 2005 (getting it on ps2), Sims 2, and maybe ill check out Rome: Total War.

if I overclocked my video card and maybe my cpu(risky) would I be able to run on high settings? but seriously is the x800 worth the cost or should I settle for a 9800pro?

been reading up on tomshardware.com and the x800 outperforms the 9800xt/pro by over 100% on some benchmarks :w00t:

im lookin on ebay for a 9800pro card...they range anywerher from 100usd and up which is not bad, some are 128mb and other 256mb. Is there really any difference between the two?

In regards to HL2 coming out this summer, I read on gamespy that it might be pushed till next year. And another hot game coming out this summer is STALKER.

well, how about the vid cards gpu...I've read that you can get a 9800pro and flash bios it to 9800xt. What should I look for?

Also I just read an article on DoomIII benchmark tests, using the next gen cards including the Nvidia 6800ultra/GT and Ati X800XT/Pro...looks like Nvidia is stepping it up.
