Do you get banned for posting in old threads? Nothing in the rules say that.

I think it's a judgement thing really.

Say there is a valid point then I see no problem.

If however you just post, "This thread is old" or something then you shouldn't be doing it.

Highly unlikely you'd be banned, a mod would pm you and tell you not to be an arse at worst.

I bumped an old thread last week - for a really important reason though  - and I'm still here :01:

People who have been banned have gone on rampages to achieve their banning I think you'll be safe with one innocent bump.

Besides it's a relevant topic to the lounge today, so why not?

If you're really worried run it by a mod. Perhaps PM them your post and see if they approve...

Thats a good thread and I could make a worthy addition to it :D

If you have a reason to post in a thread, then what's the harm even if it is an old one.

If you do it just to aggravate or annoy, then you will get warned about it.

No one is going to get banned for something so trivial, particularly if they have a reason to do it.

The bulk (but not all) of the people who have been banned from here were trying to get it done. Or were just pushing people and causing fights because that is how they get their "fun".

True, I dont see any problem replyying for an old thread,
if it adds something to the topic, not just bumping it up for
bump sake. (BBS)
:D

Now, think about the Lounge-Off-Topic threads.
One could post something Off Topic and it would be
On topic as it is Off topic section, eh?

Confudge, and fan-tastic.

:cool2:

On almost every forum the general rule is to not bump up old topics.

However, in some cases, like when you have a very specific problem that has already been discussed in a topic, it is preferred to post in the existing topic rather than creating a new one.

It's mainly just common sense.

Been wondering since I have thought about bringing up:

This (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=12937&hl=Sicko's&st=15)
This (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=14354&hl=Sicko's)
Or most likely This One (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=19943&hl=Sicko's)

I really hate sometimes how people bitch so much about not connecting, about their threads getting closed, about crap files on fasttrack when there are larger issues that should be addressed. Then again, like last time, most likely it would just start shit and most people will agree with me 100% and then not do a goddamn thing about it.

Interesting that this thread was opened since I been contemplating the same thing.

I was wondering if you'd had any luck with the topic of those discussions? I know it was talked about quite a bit, but was wondering how you had gotten along. Maybe a new thread?
