Hey Fellas,

My 80 - 60 fan adapter should be here today. Should I A: just leave my HS in the mobo and just replace the fan or should I B: take the HS out and install the fall and also put on some Artic Silver?

Thanks.

Do it the second way.
Removing the stock fan and screwing in the new adaptor/fan is sure to disturb the TIM, so you are better off renewing it with AS5 anyway.

Does anyone know where I can get some Acetone or something to get the old paste off?

loghter fluid works better than anything else but ofcourse im afraid it will ignite so aftyer i remove the thermal pad i do a quick rub with alcohol.

and when i put my fan on out of the case to the heatsink i wasn't able to put the heatsink back on, so i had to remove the fan and adaptor, put on heatsink, then attach fan again. only way it would work. ;)

Ok.......I installed everything and powered on my PC. The first time through it prompter BIOS and I skipped. I then checked the sys nfo in XP and it said I had 1.09 gh ( I have a 2500+). I then went back and did bios and saved changes and now it has the correct reading of 1.83. Is there any other way to make sure everything is ok?

Thanks.

So far the temps are:
System 25 C
Cpu 35 C
