Hi, I bought a DVD Player,
(DVD Philips DVR642)
But since i live in Tijuana Mexico,
I ad to make it Region free, using
a Hack that a nice person geve me
trugh this forum,
so, I was wondering, are there any more hacks
for this player?

ya...certains dvds only pplay in teh region they were bought. there are 5 different regions.
region free means it can play any region's dvds.
i dunno about any more hacks...why not try googling?

3 Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo and Indonesia
4 Australia and New Zealand, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America
5 India, Africa, Russia and former USSR countries
6 Peoples Republic of China
7 Unused
8 Airlines/Cruise Ships
i guess maybe theres only 5 "real" regions. ;)

7 is unused...why not move the airplane one down to 7 then. :lol:

but really i thought there were only 5 out there...

You can use dvddecrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/) to remove Region Coding from the dvd. (you will have to save (make a dvd image) on your computer)
or you can try anydvd (http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html) to remove Region Coding on the fly. It will be like your dvd drive is set for all Regions.

it's to prevent people in the uk and other places from buying movies in teh us and taking them over, cause most are released in the us first...they want controlled coverage. :rolleyes:
