What File Is This?

i downloaded a movie from suprnova and among the files downloaded, there's a file with extension .idx.
i checked with filext.com but there are too many references there, i dunno which is correct

hope someone here can clear the light

Those are used for subtitles. An .IDX file (index) is used with a .SUB file to display subtitles provided you have VOBsub installed.
