How come onomatopoeia (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=onomatopoeia) doesn't sound like what it means?

Longest palindrome:

A man, a plan, a canal, panama

Does AOL not support google? ;)

It's a word, or sentence, that reads the same backwards as forwards.
