All I have to say is... it's driving me haywire!!!

I had to reinstall XP recently and now after all the updates and stuff, outlook express gives me some damn "MSOE.DLL could not be initialized" error!

I already tried and failed with:
Messener Removal
Messenger Stop and disable in Services
Messenger folder rename
Outlook express reinstall
IE repair
IE and Outlook uninstall.. then reinstall through Windows Update.
Deleted .dbx files
Checked .dbx files for "Read-Only"

I think I solved this problem last time with a .reg patch from some website, but I cannot find it! I didnt replace the msoe.dll file or anything, it was just some damn setting.

I feel it would be happier to slash myself over and over on my arm rather than get this error.

Use ThunderBird 0.7.2 (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/0.7.2/ThunderbirdSetup-0.7.2.exe) instead, its best ;)

Yea.. I better start fresh this time and fully uninstall:

Outlook Express
Windows Media Player

I'll keep IE as a backup, since it's the only browser that works with windows update.
Hell, I'll rename the s.o.b to windows update lol.
