The best speakers ever are the Motional Feedback speakers!
25 years old by now, but still the best!

They used to use them in theaters. They get very LOW!

See the fan site here: Philips MFB FAN Site! (http://www.mfbfreaks.com/ENG/index1.html)
You can buy them on markets everywhere and only some freaks really know how great they are! (and kill you for it! )
I have almost all of them.. 532, 541,544,567,587 only the 545 is missing from my collection!

(anyone in the Netherlands have them? :D )

Watts don't matter man... all MFB's have a build in amplifier! You can connect them together... the more you have the more watts! And you can connect them directly to your PC!

I don't want to convince any one... you just have to listen to them...
And they only cost about $ 50,- us dollars or € 50,- a set..

Who cares... if you have them.. give them to me! :D

I would recommend Altec Lansing for that price point.

My set of Klipsch 5.1's are the best of all 5.1ers in respect to sound quallity. Yes the Logitechs have louder sound and more value for your money with digital decoding and all but when it comes down to sound quallity the Klipsch speakers rule. The bass is better with Klipsch alot of newbies in sound like louder bass that is less "punchy" and controlled like Klipsch. They just like to rumble the house without respect to sound quallity. I really love pure accurate sound so Klipsch is the best choice for me but the Logis are still great speakers when it comes to value and loudness. Never heard a set of Creative MegaWorks though...

Finally someone said it. So true. I like my music to sound decent. That doesn't mean putting the bass all the way up, and treble all the way down. That just shows how stupid you are (my roommate). He thinks its all about bass. True bass adds depth, but it shouldn't go 3 floors down.

As for the speakers. Yeah i think they are the best. I was going to get these 4 years ago when they came out, but i was to poor. When i move on to my next comp, they will def be there.

i have the logi z-340s. terrific value for the price. and prob way better bass than the altecs. plus a bass control and headphone jack (i use this a lot).

but top of the line comparing with the klipsch pm 5.1 and the logi 680s are the altec 631 (i think) sumthin or the yamaha 6 piece sumthin or other. man if u can afford those...wow. :P
B)

get the logi 340s, not the altecs. the blue light is cool too! (but the wires are permanent and not too long.) and no wall wart power source. also...ahhh! the volume control is WAY to small and hard to use. i HATE that, it really pisses me off... but they can blast! wow.
:D :P

Yes it DOES matter. I would lean towards the Altec Lansings. I have never personally heard those paticular ones but that 4.1 system that they sold about a year ago for about 100-150- they sounded VERY rich. I am sure that the power and detail isnt there but as far as richness is concerned they were about as rich as my Klipsches.

ive yet to hear a set of computer speakers that sound anywhere near was good as my home stereo speakers. they are 700 watts rms total and over 1000watts peak.

i listen to music on my computer more than i do my home stereo so i hooked my home stereo into my computer and if you already have a good home stereo you dont have to spend anything to get good quality sound.
