Ebony being a semitic(afro/asiatic) word for a black tree, whats not commonly known is that ebony can also come in green and red wood forms not only in black. :o Shit I need to go out and get some friends :(

Dark brown ranging to near black, depending on the conditions.

They used to make the black keys on pianoes in ebony, I think.

I think there&#39;s at least a hint of brown in it before it&#39;s treated tho&#39;. But then again, maybe not in the heartwood of that one tree. Which is what they make piano keys and such out of.
