When i put in a software cd in the cd drive in my laptop it wont load and when i goto "My Compter" and try to open it in "My Computer" it says that its not ready.

Hint:
1) When I put in a audio cd it will read it by itself.
2) When I put in a AOL cd it read it.

the cd i put in is a CD-RW

its a Windows 98SE

Is it an old computer? Maybe it can't read CD-RWs.

Do you know how many models of Lifebook laptops there are?

Look here: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/help.do

and find your model and then come back here.

what software are you using to burn cd's. If you are using Nero mack sure you have INCD installed, if you are using Roxio make sure you have DirectCd installed. Also you have to format CDRW before they are accessable.

That's only if you want a UDF format CDRW. You don't need either of those packages to record your CDRW in ISO format, in which case you don't need to preformat either.
