ummm recently past few months i have dled files and i can't play them without

some sort of popup that says "acquiring license". Does that mean they are going

to make me pay for the file before i play it? bah i am too scared to see what it is

every time it pops up i instantly delete it because im afraid it might insta charge

me. I have a bad feeling that RIAA has something to do with that. Anyways, any

help with an explaination of this would be GREATLY appreciated. 10000 thanks in advance to whoever heelps.

Yep, your files are DRM (digital right management) protected.
This kind of stuff is usually found in windows media files (.wma or .wmv).
The only solution is to stay away from these files. :(

also, you could add .wmv and .wma to your Search Filter.

These are Windows Media Files and as you already found out, when you try
to play one the WMP opens and gets into that "Acquiring License" mode.

A TIP: I've seen that in many cases (perhaps all) these unwelcomed
video files will also have the ARTIST listed as...."Unknown".
