When I do a search or browse I get a strange popup as part of the page with some add. This popup is part of the suprnova page and does not show up as a separate explorer window. I tried disabling java and JavaScript but that did not help.

Anyone know how it is generated and how to stop it. And please no "use a different browser" replies.

Thanks

Found it, it is caused by this script:

&#60;script>var str="<body style="margin:0;padding:0"><iframe width=0 height=0 src="http://jnova.cjt1.net/htm/507/2/javasitereport.asp?as=453&pr=215670&sq=5062&ig=0&ord=155292896"></iframe><head><title>new offer for you&#33;</title>";var appendix="";var str1="</head><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=4,0,2,0"";str1 += "id=banner width="100%" height="100%"><param name=movie value="http://jcontent.bns1.net/bns/new/aws_ca_pop080604.swf?clicktag1=http://jnova.cjt1.net/redirect/click.asp?as=453%26aw=507%26pr=215670%26ord=161189336%26url=http://ct.cydoor.com/cascripts/cat/ca13595.asp%3fc=154%26t=b%26a=507%26p=215670%26more=zcode=z4249"><param name=quality value=high><embed src="http://jcontent.bns1.net/bns/new/aws_ca_pop080604.swf?clicktag1=http://jnova.cjt1.net/redirect/click.asp?as=453%26aw=507%26pr=215670%26ord=161189336%26url=http://ct.cydoor.com/cascripts/cat/ca13595.asp%3fc=154%26t=b%26a=507%26p=215670%26more=zcode=z4249" quality=high";str1 += "swliveconnect=false width="100%" height="100%" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?p1_prod_version=shockwaveflash"></embed></object></body>";function checkblocked(){if (blocked==1){window.showmodelessdialog("http://jnova.cjt1.net/htm/507/2/javasiterequest.asp?lv=6000&dc=453&pr=215670&nf=0&iw=0&ih=0&ord=341061147",0,"scroll:0;dialogtop:0px;dialogleft:0px;help:no;status:no;dialogheight:"+wheight+"px;dialogwidth:"+wwidth+"px");}}var wwidth=404;var wheight=440;var wleft=(screen.availwidth-wwidth)/2;var wtop=(screen.availheight-wheight)/2;var blocked=1;settimeout("checkblocked()",5000);var msg=window.open("","new1","width="+wwidth+",height="+wheight+",left=10000,top=10000");msg.focus();msg.document.write(str+appendix+str1);function moveit(){if (&#33;msg.closed) msg.moveto(wleft,wtop);}settimeout("moveit()",5000);</script>

I will try locking at it to see how it opens a popup without registering a new page and try to stop it. If anyone can help me that would be great.

Thanks.

One way to possibly prevent the pop-up ads is to add this to your Windows HOSTS file:

# SuprNova website pop-up ads -- they have [torrent files are not allowed] files there

0.0.0.0 jnova.cjt1.net
0.0.0.0 jcontent.bns1.net
0.0.0.0 ct.cydoor.com

The pop-up ads may still occur, but they&#39;ll either be empty or contain &#39;this page cannot be displayed&#39;.

Better pop-up blocking methods will prevent those outright -- either by blocking pop-ups in general or specifically blocking those sites.

Why won&#39;t you use another browser? :blink:
