Unfortunately, I won't get to see the opening ceremonies for another six hours or so (@ 8 p.m. PST)
It's 1:30 p.m. PST right now.
I have (Comcast) cable not satellite so I'm at their mercy. And, we're always
sucking hind tit anyway here on the West Coast of the U.S.

Let us know if anything unusual or noteworthy happens during the ceremony.
I don't mind knowing ahead of time, it's not as if you're revealing the ending of
a movie or anything.

I see you're around 7 hours ahead of me (Athens, Greece is 10 hours ahead) so I guess you're somewhere across the Pond? You have satellite?

mrlessk :)

If I can make it til Saturday 2 a.m. PST I can watch the U.S. put their 70 game win streak up against Italy in Women's Softball.

theres live online feeds if u want to watch it live instead of waiting

very impressive opening, slightly boring middle part but quite interesting. DJ Tiesto played a good mix as the athletes came in ( will try n get hold of that) n then the flame was lit. Bjork played a track which was shite i thought but never mind.

the most impressive part is at the start. loads of drummers n a burning arrow is fired into water n the 5 olympic rings lit up in the water.

Agreed, but that torch looks like a giant doobie. It gave me the munchies. Barcelona is still my favorite torch lighting.

I've just been watching the synchronised diving*. These kids are fantastic. ;) Exactly how long do you need to practice for that?

* I thought that 9.6 should be the perfect score.

Yes, perhaps not the most exciting sport for most to view it is, nonetheless, interesting in that it is an Olympic competition and only the closest teams to perfection will win the medals.

Here is a guide.....Synchronized Diving (http://www.usadiving.org/media/diving_guide/synchro.htm)....that can answer questions about this sport.
