Ok I downloaded it Harry potter DVDRip the extension of the file is .mkv so I am using Mplayer to play the movie, my problems is this that there is not audio, the image quality is great but I have no audio. SO I am dying since I can hear a word.

Now every time I click on the movie Mplayer opens but before watching the movie there is a message that said:

Media Player classic could not render some pins on the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters install on your system

Once you have the player you need to put it on the same drive as the movie ie c: etc IT WON'T WORK if on different drives because this is "dos", to make life easy rename your file to say movie.mkv (if you see extentions movie if not) like I did then go to run and type:
C:\MPlayer\mplayer\mplayer.exe<one space here >C:\Movies\Movie.mkv
this is assuming your player is on C: change if not and your movie is in a folder called Movie change if not, it works believe me its just a real pain in the ass when they are in mkv UNLESS its an avi or mpeg (audio isn't a problem).

Did you try G-Spot to ID the codec(s) of the movie. It will also tell you if the needed codec is installed.

I myself have the same file and its not an avi so even the leastest gspot won't id it, the main problem is I can't even extract the video/audio out of it been tring for weeks even what others are saying in other forums doesn't work.
One guy said he'd done it with no problem at all when confronted he pissed off and hasn't been seen since, may have another go tomorrow if I can find some time oh! tried lots of convert programs too most just freeze up even once extracted with VirtualDubMod.

Added:
V-Real/RV40 is the video and A_Vorbis an ogg as we all know for the audio, can sort the ogg its that rv40 as normal real files are 8,10 etc.

Well, I can play MKVs but I'm using 'Cole2k Media - Codec Pack V5.50 Advanced' which can even play DTS rips. Check it out below:
