I've tried Plus! for Windows XP
it sucks because there's nothing useful in it at all

I've tried WindowBlinds and StyleXP
they suck too because their themes look just too amateur

is there anywhere I can get more official XP styles?
or at least extra colours beside the default blue, silver and green?

thanks

WTF?
They both work fine but you need to look around for a style you like. Perhaps that's where you're going wrong - not using your initiative.

Actually there was a leak of a theme called "royale" by microsoft htis can be found here:
Kinda hard to find... (http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19657)

However i would just use a UXtheme patcher and then use Deviant Art/Neowin as all of the best themes are on those sites.

yeah, about the amateur thing... there are very professional looking skins for both Windowblinds and StyleXP. Granted, there are amateur ones of each, but you have to weed through those.

Try Themexp.org, wincustomize.com, deviantart.com, etc. If the page allows, sort the skins by "rating", and you'll have some of the best looking ones come up first.

You're obviously looking in the wrong places.
