At one time you could do a search and click "download" and the song was available in 3 minutes or so on DSL. Now when searching and trying to download all I get is "Remote" ... hours later it may download or maybe not. What happen to this once Great P2P program ??? Thanks for any advice !!!

If you mean Kazaa's excuse for a browser, no it has nothing like that. I think Shareaza has a good interface, and you've probably got IE anyway, so having one in a p2p app is a bit pointless.

try the Shareaza forums if you want to know more about it and it's features.

Shareaza Home - has links to forums (http://www.shareaza.com)

Star Lite Star Bright...

TRASH.

As far as Shareaza goes it really aint much better and seems ok for dialup users perhaps although as for comparisons to KL its actually the closest thing around in terms of GUI but better. I think if your looking for a similar GUI and ease of use you could also try any EDK2 type client which I still prefer eMule myself anyway...

well kazaa lite isnt as good as it used to be , but it still has its moments. As far as Shareaza, i started using it recently and the speed is usually around 80 Kb/s and then it would spike to like 600 and it even went to 1100 once. Its really cool, but is it normal?

I must really have the best p2p karma on the planet I tell you. I do use irc for newer anime releases or full albums zipped but unlike so many others I have not abandoned the program that has brought me so much content (and originally brought this site a crap load of members). So why does it work for me?

I don't know honestly cause listening to the naysayers I should be lagged in remotely queued or download nothing but corrupted files, yet like I said, good p2p karma.

I have found a couple tricks though: when using hashes, your download may not start, try looking for a similarly sized file (this is how I get my software, I get file size here, and I have to say it works.) Also the search trick: often if I leave my search running for a bit, it will jump around automatically and it seems at those times I reach my best connections.

Let us not forget part of the problem with klite is so many of you abandoned it for BT (less sources) and that Sharman has it geared so people like myself using K++ often will not conect with a kazaa supernode. Also let us not forget that klite was ruled "illegal" Many mitigating factors.

But for me? I get what I want. I don't sit on remotely queued because I cancell and find another file (sorry guys that 1/10th finished d/l? cancel and find another source, it does sometimes come to that). Try the autosearchmore trick.

Personally I like what Paul gave us, I like the K++ loader random nut gave us, I like what rocko did (wish I saw more of him actually). I like the add ons, the spiffy side programs, and frankly I get my shows, movies and music at a decent speed.

Why? Because there are people like myself who use klite, who like the interface, who have broadband and who share gigs of files. And I am not alone on that. Not saying fasttrack is perfect, and for those of you who knew me here before, the anti child pornography threads should recount my issue with fasttrack as well. But hell I hang at the irc channel helping people out so I know lots of people still use klite, though half our ops don't use it (interesting huh?). On principal I have not abandoned it, and I simply am not sure why everybody else has such issues, since again: Good speeds, all the files I want for the most part, nifty add ons.

Say what you will, I understand other peoples issues.

I answer questions about it on a daily basis on an irc channel that the javachat in klite links to, I know full well about it. It just isn't that bad like people say, and somebody needed to say this I think, since life is all about pointing out the negative and expecting the positive.

K++ went under when Sharman shut us down, and then VB left.

I love kazaa, because if you are looking for music videos, you always get at least five or ten other people who have it. And its fast and easy to find rare things.

I use kazaa for videos and Winmx for songs. For entire CDs Soulseek all the way!

No, actually you are just an imbusile. Just change supernodes. Why do so many people just register a name, and then go "OMG< There Is 2 users on Kazaa, WTF!?@#!@#!@#!@"

Hi,
I noticed the numbers of users on Klite go down when all this RIAA crap started but the publicity must have done some good because the numbers are now rising, It use to take me at least a week to down load a popular movie at the beginning of the year but just the other night I got seven movies down a night.

I also use Overnet, It upgraded to ED2k a few months ago but I could never get a good connection on that so I went back to Overnet although it seems to be slowing down a bit now. It is still good for full albums and software.

So Klite is still the one for me.

Hi,
Within the last few weeks I have DL'ed 10 good watchable chart Movies and a few full Music Albums granted a couple were AlbumWraps.
I have never had any viruses come in with a DL over the last year and a half and I have an AV up to date.
I have had more porn disguised as other films from Overnet.

I use:
SoulSeek - For music
LimeWire - For video/software
BitTorrent (Azureus) - For complete packages (games, albums, video etc)
IRC - Same as BitTorrent

These are my most favourite filesharing clients.
And as mentioned earlier I only use KL for the unmentionable

I still use Kazaalite now and then, but I have moved on like most people to BT, emule (one of my favourites) and SoulSeek. :)

i use:
BT - movies, good stuff
KLR - porn clips, and individual songs, but you need to use MP3Shield with it to root out the fakes.
soulseek - (im not sure what i use it for, have gotten into it to much...yet)
