I mean come on, they just fly round and attack people <_<

Bee's do that honey thing, fly's lay maggots to eat rotten meat and shit, spiders eat flys...............WTF do wasps do that's useful apart from sting people? <_<

And then if you swat one and it suvives it goes and gets all it's mates, the bloody things are like Chelsea supporters  Hit one and without warning there's hundreds of them

Wasps are carnivores.

They attack for defense and food.

Wasps kill spiders.

I`m told thay give off pheromones when they`re in distress that is why they attract other wasps.

I agree Jonno, wasps are pointless, horrible things. they're not even scared of people, which is stupid because we've got rolled up newspapers and insect-killer.

Knew I'd posted about them somewhere (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=119598&hl=&view=findpost&p=1095682)

I vote wasp genocide.

Not only that but spiders are afraid of them. :o

There is a spider that lives the desert that when threatened by a wasps first will burrow under the sand to hide.

The wasp will then start burrowing to get to the spider.

The spider will then roll up and cartwheel down sand (superfast btw) to escape.

Wasps also tap outside of spider burrows (I'm talking BIG spiders) to lure them out then sting the shit out of them, drag them back into the burrow, and lay eggs on the spider so the larvae can eat the spider when they hatch.

All of this while the spider is alive but paralyzed. :o

There was a band in the eighties called W.A.S.P. I'm not sure if they were for or against wasps tho.

If they were against wasps we should team up with them I think, they look tuff.

how come when i lifted my foot after being stung by a wasp it was hanging by its ass with its stinger in my foot, then after i shook it off i had to remove the rest of the stinger with tweezers??

JONNO_CELEBS
08-20-2004, 12:47 AM
And then jabbed it with it's own stinger? :01:

I know someone who done that, sprayed the wasp with lighter gas to knock it out then pulled the sting out with tweezers and proceeded to stab the wasp with it's own stinger

WTF!!!

 :01: STFU!!! and GTFO!!! :01:

Wasps do sting and they don't leave the stinger in you.
Bees leave the stinger in you and rip off part of their body when they do it, thus killing themselves in the process (I think the queen can sting over and over though  ).
I once saw a wasp on the Discovery channel, while on his front legs, balance himself to aim his stinger in front of him and sting a spider as if it were a sword. A run through if you will.

Replying to the title ...

Wasps make nests out of mud but I've seen them use the oxide I used to paint concrete statues with, a purty red one one time. :D

If you bust open their nests they have filled them with spiders for the growing wasp to feed on. And the spiders are still alive if you bust a nest open quick enough.

We find them extremely useful for scaring the crap out of international visitors. You wanna make a pom dance? You let loose a wasp near the barbie. pmsl! No matter how many times I tell them waving their arms about is the way to get stung, they just can't seem to help it. We do have mighty big wasps but they aren't aggresive unless you disturb them. I'll happily cook a barbie with one buzzing around. I haven't been stung that way yet. Falling into a shrub they are in will do that for you.

Wasps own, they hunt flies here.

I hate flies. Bunny-murderin' scum.

I was clearing up some stuff a couple of weeks ago and came across a nest of bumblebees.

A nest of bumblebees who are pissed at you 'cos you've just wrecked their house- now that's scary.

I had a breathing mask on and gloves and everything, but I still ran like hell.

Before that I thought they all lived alone.

Wasps are there to piss you off and to try and get in your mouth when you are drinking pop.

They gang up on people, chase them round the garden and never ever get the hint.

I either squash em with the pop bottle they have so wanted to get into....

or (my personal favourite)

I trap em inside the pop bottle, where I can see their angry little faces and can do a little tormenting of my own.

I do let em go eventually tho as I am not totally cruel
