for some reason, without me even browsing the internet or downloading ANYTHing

new viruses seem to appear daily.

i sont know why but nortin 2002 cant fix them, only quarintine them and give me messages every 30 min telling me that it has been fixed suxcessfuly

its my dads computer and his busness is on it so i need it fixed.

if they are reappearing and its the same virus, check they aint in system restore

I would:
update the virus definitions
start up in safe mode
perform full system scan
delete anything left in quarantine.

*edit* yeah, and delete all your restore points.

do the normal,

1. update your antivirus software
2. second update the virus definitions
3. boot in safe mode, and run a full system scan
4. run adaware to clean all the spyware

and also it would help if you told us the name of the virus, there are virus removal tools available at Norton's Web Site (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html)

if its really a slut, do the only thing you can do............. fuck it.......

it might be a virus that has fucked with NAV (making the virus the real slut :P), disabling it from getting rid of the virus........ this means you should either do a full reinstall, or you can try getting a new AV next to NAV to try and get rid of the virus...... you'll prolly have to get rid of NAV after that though........ look in the pinned topic for other AV's

i would look up the virus on the Symantec website for removal instructions - some viruses are pretty stubborn

make sure any removable discs that you or your dad uses are not infected

Do an online trojan scan and anti-virus scan...sometimes your anti-virus can become infected..also don"t try to install another AV until you rid yourself of the virus it will only corrupt the new AV.
