My condolences certainly go out to the families of the soldiers killed in this war.

But I'm amazed that the Iraqi soldiers have managed to kill any of the British lads out there as the Americans have been doing the job for them.

This hasn't been written as some kind of sick joke, it just really pi$$e$ me off when we send over our people to help our "Allies" fight a war and then the incompetent Americans kill more of us than the bloody enemy has managed.

Whenever there's the mention of "Friendly Fire" it's always the Americans doing the firing. I mean if it were us killing Americans they'd be over here suing us. As it is they just come out with BS excuses. No wonder no-one else in the UN wants to join in, they don't want to be shot by the Americans.

So to all of the Americans "THE BRITISH ARE ON THE SAME SIDE AS YOU" or wasn't that explained to you.

I've already corrected that.

But when someone mentions Friendly Fire I always think what have the Americans done now. You've got access to some of the most technical pieces of hardware on the planet and what do you do with it - you put it in the hands of complete morons.

Bush is a prime example - complete moron with the power to destroy the whole planet. Christ, my grandfather has more brains but we don't let him loss with the TV remote.

But considering we have far more troops participating in this war, it stands to reason we will also make the most mistakes :(

I do find it amazing that the British have lost a much higher proportion of troops though and am very saddened by that(but remember that the largest portion of losses was in one incident). I am sure that no one belives it was intentional, so why treat it as if it was?

Added:
Just because of what seems to be technlogical problems, please do not talk down about the troops that are trying to do their jobs.

If America is anything like the UK then majority of soldiers in the army are those individuals that left school with no qualifications and couldn't get a job doing anything else. The people with brains (in the UK anyway) have always gone in the RAF.

I'm certainly not trying to 'talk down' the troops. Their doing a wonder job, well the British are anyway. Perhaps what we need to do is paint our Harriers in the stars and strips, that should stop them from been shot down.

@Master Yodax
Seems strange to me that your standing up for Bush after all those funny pictures you posted about him :D and if he's not an idiot how do you explain this.

No, cause we would just toss a few grenades at them

Everyone involved is gonna lose/suffer, so why be disrespectfull of the people who have no choice but to participate in this(Be they American, British, Australian or Iraqi's caught in the middle)?

I believe a majority of the troops from the U.S. are actually highschool graduates who joined the army to get free college. Everyone I know joined for that reason, but I'm not sure about other areas.

To get into the RAF the minimum qualifications for a pilot are 2 A/A2-levels or 3 Scottish Higher passes, plus 5 GCSEs/SCEs (Grade C/3) including English Language and Maths.

But to get into the army and I've taken this from the army's own website:-

Q: What qualifications do I need to join the Army?

A: For the majority of jobs you do not require any formal qualifications, but for certain technical trades, you may be required to have certain GCSEs. The main ones being in maths, english language and a science subject.

So come on then Einstein seeing as I'm such a retard explain it to me, why can you get into the army with no qualifications but you need A levels for the RAF?

Well? your ass is on the line.

And there you've proved my point for me, if you'll notice in the post your refering to you'll notice the word I use is 'majority' this doesn't mean all. Perhaps in future you should ask an adult to tell you what words mean before you express an opinion. Here let me do it for you:

ma·jor·i·ty Audio pronunciation of majority ( P ) Pronunciation Key (m-jôr-t, -jr-)
n. pl. ma·jor·i·ties

1. The greater number or part; a number more than half of the total.
2. The amount by which the greater number of votes cast, as in an election, exceeds the total number of remaining votes.
3. The political party, group, or faction having the most power by virtue of its larger representation or electoral strength.
4. 'Law'. The status of having reached full legal age, with attendant rights and responsibilities.
5. The military rank, commission, or office of a major.
6. 'Obsolete'. The fact or state of being greater; superiority.

im not saying the grades do have to be high..
The grades don't have to be high in fact you don't need any grades at all for the army.

By the way NVG's don't have little pin prick holes on the outside, they have a lens and behind it is a glass plate coated with a photoelectric material on the back side. It collects photoelectrons which are accelerated through a potential difference of several hundred volts to a 'channel plate' containing many fine holes about 10 microns in diameter (this is inside the camera housing). This hole has a conducting surface and an additional potential difference from one side of the plate to another. When a photoelectron strikes a hole, it ionizes atoms at the point of impact. This in turn releases several electrons, which are accelerated farther down the hole to produce even more electrons. This part of the device is called a photomultiplier. The result of this device is tens of thousands of electrons leave the hole. These electrons are further accelerated to strike a fluorescent screen, where the effects can easily be seen by the eyes. I hope this has cleared things up for you I don't suppose they explained this for you on Blue Peter.

I'd like to leave you with one thought...unfortunately I'm not sure you have anywhere to put it!

What is disturbing me is that I get pm'ed for cursing too much and yet it seems as though it is completely acceptable to bash Americans because, well, I don't know why, maybe because the people who run this board are €z?

For a PILOT you have minimum qualifications.

Most are Officers, and minimum rank is Flight Sergeant.

For most RAF trades, you also need no qualifications....

For Army officers you need the same qualifications as RAF officers.

Most Army Trades are quite technical now (and I include many Infantry Trades), and the length of the training reflects this....it doesnt stop with the 6 weeks basic, like in the old days. Some of the weapons they use are quite complex.

If you then go into the more technical Corps; such as Artillery, Signals, Engineers....well it becomes plain your talking out of you backside.

I know one guy that would have trouble doing 8 X 7, but can strip, fix and reassemble a BATES computer system with no hassel.......so, is he thick? Or just not good at Math?

I worked with those systems for years...I couldnt do that, they arent exactly as simple as a PC.

every unit is as valueable as the other....

and RF made a VERY good point..

hell im a retard @ maths i can barely do long division!

but i can at the same time do lots of other thing's which many others cant.. i mean a sniper for E.G may not be very good at english.. but he can nail his target 10/10 form 1000 yards...

so at the end of the day.. lets just realise our forces kick ass...

and to be honest leech.. i know what you mean... i thoguth abotu it.. my mate who got like 10a*'sd @ GCSE is heading to RAF...
whereas me (4 gcse's) was headed for infantry.. so i think that is why i got a little defensive...

I completely agree. While I don't post an awful lot, I have been coming to this board for quite some time now. I also find the American bashing becoming quite intollerable. I served my country in Desert Storm proudly, and while I don't consider myself to be overly intelligent, I get by. Please have some consideration before typing some ignorant post cutting down a whole group of people. I as well as my father and his father served America proudly with military service. Friendly fire will ALWAYS happen and with all the media available now you are more likely to hear about it. It is all to EASY to sit behind a computer and criticise these soldiers for costly mistakes like FF, but TRY even for a moment to put yourself in one of these soldiers shoes. I'm sure a large percentage of them would rather be here discussing games, movies and such.

Sorry for the rant, just a little upset lately about a few things going on. :)

Have a nice day.

This seems to have drifted off topic. This started as a way of venting some frustration about being shot at by our allies. Cause it doesn't help that two of our own tanks have just opened fire at each other and two choppers flew into one another. But it's only human nature to point the blame for an accident.

@Romeo187
Apology accepted and I’m sorry if I offended you in anyway.

It would be hypocritical of me to say that qualifications were an indication of intelligence, their not. All they mean is that the person has the ability to retain information. Qualifications like a university degree just show that the person has the strength of character to see something through and won’t drop out when the going gets tough. I run a small business doing computer aided engineering, 3D designs. Do I have any qualifications for this, the simply answer is no. I left school with a handful of CSE’s and O level’s. Then I had years of training in practical applications of engineering and I ended up with a long list of City & Guilds qualifications. The pieces of paper don’t mean anything it’s the training that’s important, the life experience if you like. It’s strange and I’ve found this in all walks of life, the more and higher the qualifications a person has the lower the common sense of that person. It’s as if they missed out on the life experience. Like I said I run my own company and I employ three engineers one of which has a degree, is he smarter than the other two, no he’s not as he isn’t able to problem solve. He’s very good once he’s told what he needs to do but he can’t figure it out for himself, which is why I don’t pay him as much as the other two. So am I smart, I have no qualifications in design work but that doesn’t mean I can’t do it because I can. I employ people that know more about it that me and I employ an accountant that can save me a lot of money. It’s important to use people’s talents and abilities. Take my accountant he costs me £200 a year for he’s service as I don’t employ him on a full time basis, but he saves me about £2700 per month on my income tax bill.

I seem to be drifting off topic again, so what I’m saying is that a person’s abilities are more important than their qualifications.
