View Full Version : How Do You Edit a SWF File

I am trying to edit a Flash file and have Macromedia although it just plays the file...

You can't you need the .fla

I guess that means I cant create it either and well that suxs.
Thing is I can edit the older ones I created in Swish though...

You can import the file in a separate flash file and edit it frame by frame, but movie clip objects won't work properly in this way.

Im not sure what that means. I was gonna replace a couple of the graphics that are in the swf which in Swish I would have just clicked on the graphic and inserted a new one although it seems newer swf files cannot be opened and etided that way...

No, it's not that simple any more.

Your best bet is probably to convert the swf file to an mpeg/avi file using the relevant software and change that frame by frame.

They can, try Action Script viewer to export the any file you want , graphic, sound, movie clip and import to flash then do what ever you like.

Nice, didn't know about that program. Looks like it'll do the job right enough.

I'm off to try it myself now! :P
