program that would help crash fake sites

I saw this program that would crash fake P2P sites. I think it would load images from the site over and over till it exceeded it bandwidth. what are these programs and how do they work? I assume they are DDOS programs.(form what i understand a DDOS program to be). I am interested in these things. does anyone have more info on them, or where i can learn more?

I believe your talking about WebStorm that a unknown person at MethLabs created based on Haxor's 'Take Back P2P' website.

Sorry I don't have anymore information about these programs. I would like more information too.
