Initially post didn't count in any non-filesharing sections.

The board was moderated better at that time.

Later on, post count was opened up to all off-topic sections and the reason wasn't to stop spamming elsewhere.

Spamming still went on and will go on in other sections.

Those who whine about such things need some pussy or something.

I think post not counting here is a great move. If that pisses people off, the fact that you can't get a bullshit number up by bullshitting, then so be it. Maybe the posts will have more content. :dry:

Actually I believe post count is to show how much a member contributes to the main direction of the board. I personally could give a shit. However, I have noticed that when post counts changed in the Lounge (to count) that there was a new advent of spam whoring going on. :dry:

If this board was General Mayhem or some sort it would make sense. My thought is that if your aim in posting is to up your number then it will always lead to bullshit posts.

I don't know why post count was "opened up". We didn't have a spam problem in the filesharing sections which is why I deduced that not being reason.
