buying domain and hosting

I want to buy a domain name and hosting space from different companies.

Shoud I buy the domain name first and then buy the hosting space or vice versa.
Does it matter?

Get the hosting first - Hosting is a lot more usable without a domain than a domain is without hosting.

Where you get hosting from is a different matter - While paying gives you more & better options, there are still a number of web hosts which will give you a decent package for free.

Where abouts do you live? Usually it's easier to handle hosting in your country, and while I know some web hosts and a cheap domain handler they're in the UK.

Anyway, try Free Webspace (http://www.free-webhosts.com/) as a first shot to finding a webhsot. A lot of the more popular ones offer both free & payable options, and usually if the package & service is good for the free plans then they'll usually be better on the payable ones :)
