My Windows XP 'Turn Off' and 'Turn On' (when u shut down ur PC and turn it on u hear the noises) noises are gone! They dissapeared after I removed some spyware and a virus and I installed Cacheman XP if that helps. It annoys me that they are gone. How do I get them to come back? My sound is working, btw.

You should be glad noises associated with spyware & viruses are gone.

I'm assuming you mean event sounds? Go to control panel, click on sounds and devices , go nut's :)

Edit: Unless you have some really funny ones why bother.

If your talking about the sounds associated with windows when you start it or shut it down...go to your start...then control panel...click on sounds and audio...then choose sounds...now locate..exit windows and highlight it..then choose the sound you want from the browse menu..the same applies to start windows .

I know its silly , but I use to tease the kids with my wav sounds . My wife burns a lot, so Super chicken is our nero success sound .She does n't know how to disable it . :D

Nvm, I figured out its cause of Cacheman that the sounds are gone. ;)
