View Full Version : My neighbours wireless connection

Currently, I am feeling very sad.

About 6 months ago, I bought a wireless laptop. Once I was using it at home and it miracously found a wireless network. After that time I could access Internet through this wireless connection. Life couldn't be happier.

But since last week, I cannot use this wireless connection. My laptop finds this connection, but cannot communicate with it. Now I can also see a 'security-lock' icon on this connection. In past, I did not use to see this icon. My fear is my neighbour may have enabled security on this wireless connection.

So I am here to ask your assistance. What can I do that would allow me to use this wireless connection again? Any other resource I should read?

regards

Get your own internet connection and buy a wireless router so your laptop can access it wirelessly.

Thats the best answer i've ever had. So basically u want me to pay for something which i have using for free in the past.

Not my style. there has to be some other way. God will open the doors for me.

yeah, router may not be expensive, but what about the internet connection?. it must be around £20 per month.
In the past I have just used the wireless connection without worrying about how it works. but now if I am going to pay for it, i need to know how it works.

Any good resource on wireless broadband for beginners?
Any good company?

don't u have broadband or are u on dialup?

if u have broadband, getting a wireless router will let u use your connection wirelessly...it's not an additional monthly fee.

At this moment I have nothing at home: broadband or dial-up. I used to have dial-up which I disconnected once I found the wireless network.

I guess its back to basics: dial-up at home, broadband at work.

I think it's worth it having ur own connection. I don't know why u can't just get ur own ISP like the rest of us. Some things are worth paying for.

Yes, you guys keep telling him to "buy a wireless router" but he doesnt have an internet connection so that will do no good, and a cable connection costs around 50$ a month here. He might want to check into more...illegal matters which will not be discussed here.

Oh man, thats all he did? That person would have been sorry if he tried to steal my internet connection.

I woulda got as much personal info as I could, and either filled up his harddrive all the way, or deleted everything i possibly could have.

You've been lucky that you got to steal his connection for as long as you did. Either get your own or stop conplaining.
